The research study I researched was Learning a Foreign Language: Effects of Tact and Listener Instruction on the Emergence of Bidirectional Intraverbals. The subjects were 6 typically developing children. The treatment sessions were conducted in a treatment lab room. Baseline was conducted during trial blocks with the order being used was adaptive treatment design. The target behavior was tact and listener instruction. The results were tact instruction was more effective than listener instruction. The graphs presented showed a steady upward trend in responding. The external validity would be limited since not everyone speaks a foreign language thus this study would not generalize to other settings without issues. A way I would change this study is using more participants and different languages particularly English, Spanish, and Chinese that are the three most common languages in America.
