This week's topic is my favorite, as it pertains directly to the topic of my doctoral dissertation. Additionally, the case study deals with whistleblowing and is actually somewhat controversial. Many people feel that it is simply unethical to report an employer or official because they owe a duty to the office. Two extremely well-known whistleblowers include Edward Snowden and Julian Assange. I am sure that each of you has your very own thoughts on these two individuals, and I am willing to bet that now two opinions are exactly the same. Many saw one or the other or even both as villians while others saw them as heroes. Despite your opinion, whistleblowers serve a very important purpose for reporting abuses, ethical violations, and corruption. Without them, we would all be much more vulnerable to those in power, yet many see this as disloyal. Please write a research paper and use at least one academic journal article from the UIU Library databases (not open source) to explore the question. Potential thesis questions include: 1. What are the effects of whistleblowing on public organizations 2. What are the effects of loyalty on public organizations (this one will be a bit trickier to research) 3. What are the effects of organizational culture on public managers 4. What are the effects of whistleblowers on public managers 5.
