Using appropriate symbols to draw and label a schematic flow sheet for
the following process:
Catalytic reforming is a key process in the production of gasoline
components and aromatics for chemical industry. One type of
reforming process is Semi-Regenerative Reforming (SRR). SRR units
consist of several (3 or 4) adiabatic fixed-bed reactors in series with
intermediate heating.
The feed is preheated at 770K and sent to the first reactor. In this
reactor, the kinetically fastest reactions occur at 720K. These are the
dehydrogenation reactions of napthenes to aromatics to maintain high
reaction rates. The product gases are reheated in a furnace at 780K
before being sent to a second reactor operating at 760K. Then reheated
to 790K and fed to a third reactor operating at 780K.
The effluent from the last reactor is cooled by heat exchange with the
feed. Then hydrogen is separated from the liquid product and partly
recycled to the process. The net hydrogen production is used in other
parts of the refinery. The liquid product is fed to the stabilizer in which
the light hydrocarbons are separated from high-octane reformate.
