What are the essential elements of the adversarial system? Conduct some research into drug courts and behavioral courts, both of which stray from the adversarial system and lean into the inquisitorial system.

Evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of each system. Consider the actual court process for a criminally charged individual in an adversarial system. How would the process work (be different?) if that person was charged under an inquisitorial system? As you examine the court process, think about it from charge to conviction and everything in between. Is this achievable in America? Should it be?
