What is a good response to this?

Hello all,

My name is Brittany. I go by Brittany or Britt. I am currently14 years deep in my Air Force career, stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas Nevada. I am an instructor now; I teach my primary job to newly enlisted students or those transferring airframes. My primary job is aircraft armament (aka weapons). Some of my hobbies include lifting in the gym (I plan on competing in 2024) and spending time reading books that will help me grow as a person. I recently changed my field of study psychology from a natural science degree. I am, so far, enjoying my change. I am a caregiver by nature so learning to help people was something I was drawn to. I think for this course, I don't have any expectations, I am just excited to learn something I don't know.

Cognitive psychology, in my opinion, is the study of how someone's brain works (i.e. learning, remembering, correlating, expression, personality). When I see the word cognition/cognitive, I think about a child. The learning of cognitive behaviors is something I was taught and that I followed closely in raising my own child. The building blocks of who my daughter would become started there. Becoming aware of one's surrounding and one's own existence, plays a huge role in childhood development. How one learns to perceive the world around them is a huge factor in how they develop their personality. The age-old question of nature vs. nurture comes to mind. Cognitive learning and psychology is widely affected by the world around the person, so nurture is a huge role. The pace of cognitive learning is also affected by one's genetics, so that is nature. I look forward to learning more about this topic.
