1. Post a definition for reliability and validity, give an example for both. Reliability is a measure of the stability or consistency of test scores. The ability for a test or research findings to be repeatable. A good example of reliability is using a thermometer to check your body temperature because it measures the correct temperature each time. Another great example would be weighing a object. When you put it on the scale you will get the same measurement each time you put it on. This can be used with your own weight as well but some results may not be accurate because sometimes the type of floor you are on can affect your scale. This isn't the same at a doctors office but personally scale may be off by a couple pounds because I am on carpet but then on hardwood it will be more accurate from what I can tell. As far as I can tell I can rely on it being off on different types of floors. Validity is a accumulation of evidence to support a specific interpretation of the test results. Whether a test measures what it aims it measures. An example for validity would be taking a test for a number of different things, for instance you take an intelligence test it should measure your intelligence and not your personality or memory. Taking an anxiety test will measure your anxiety in different situations and if you have it or not, it shouldn't ask about depression even though they are related sometimes that test was only for anxiety
