You are their key supplier and there is very high demand for the parts you produce. However, you are late on shipments and holding up the customer's assembly line. The customer is threatening to discontinue doing business with you unless something changes. When you arrive at work the first day, you observe that there are piles of work in progress and excess inventory everywhere. Tools and equipment are not well maintained. There appears to be low morale amongst the employees. There are quality problems resulting in many parts being scraped or reworked. One of the biggest problems is coming from the welding process.
