Your written analysis should include relevant facts, Maryland criminal law, and a detailed analysis.

Please note thatthis assignment must be based on Maryland criminal law.A detailedanalysisfocuses on how the law applies to the facts? You must explain how the facts of this case satisfy the elements of the crime.

Also, students need to discuss any defenses and/or weaknesses in the case. Remember, charge the defendant(s) with all possible (relevant) crimes, but discuss why the case may not be successful.

HERE ARE THE FACTS:

Paul suspects his wife, Brenda, is cheating. While driving home one afternoon, Paul sees his wife's car parked in front of his best friend, Alex's, driveway. Convinced that his friend would never open the door with knowledge of his true identity, he knocks and pretends to be a lost pizza delivery man. Deceived by the ruse, the best friend opens the door, at which time Paul enters the home and punches his wife in the face. Paul's wife suffered a broken nose and she later died as a result of complications from her broken nose.

You are the judge. Usingthe textbook, study tools, and information discussed in class, what homicide charge(s) should Paul face? Once you determine his homicide charge, what sentence would you impose? Paul has no prior record? Using the elements, please fully explainthe factual basis for the charge. Then, please discussany relevant defenses and the basis for the defense.
