You are to set up a database in SPSS and then use the Compute Variable feature to create a fourth variable called “avgspeed.” There are five cases: Variable 1: speed1 has the label of 1-walking speed with speeds of 3.20, 3.18, 1.40, 3.26, and 2.57. Variable 2: speed2 has the label of 2-walking speed with speeds of 3.34, 3.61, 2.10, 3.12, and 2.82. Variable 3: speed3 has the label of 3-walking speed with speeds of 3.25, 3.24, 1.97, 3.41, and 2.98. Save the database, which has the new variable (“avgspeed”) as speed—you may use it in future review exercises.
