Most markets are moving towards computerised gaming machines with lower denominations, since this allows the operators greater flexibility. The trend places Aristocrat at an advantage, since its home base in Australia is already well developed along these lines. Aristocrat machines have been winning business across the globe on superior technology, and the firm has been increasing its market share in the US, the traditional home of International Game Technology. Seventy per cent of Aristocrat revenues are now generated outside Australia. The trend towards global customers and away from supplying conventional slot machines to customised, computerised models has prompted a fundamental review of the structure of the supply chain at Aristocrat.
