Create a leader journey map following these instructions.

Step 1: Create a map of your journey as a leader to this point in your life. Draw your leadership path or road. Put in important twists and turns as well as highs and lows. Mark important events or experiences that have shaped who you are and how you think and act as a leader. Identify important people who played a role along the way. Note any trigger events. Then share your map with a partner or small group. Describing your drawing will deepen your self-understanding and provide others with important insights into your leader behavior.

Step 2: Extend your map 5–10 years out into the future. Identify the learning opportunities, experiences, and relationships you want to have to become a more effective leader. Describe your map and the action steps you will take to reach your goals.
