Surface temperatures on the Earth's moon

(a) Estimate the surface temperature of our moon at the point nearest the sun by a quasi-steady-state radiant energy balance, regarding the lunar surface as gray. Neglect radiation and reflection from the planetsc the solar constant at Earth is given in Example 16.4-1.

(b) Extend part (a) to give the lunar surface temperature as a function of angular displacement from the hottest point.
