The Internet contains a wealth of information that you can use to help you determine where to send completed press releases. To complete this case study, you will gather information about local publications and other media outlets in your home town.

1. Open the file Research_07.docx located in the Project.07 folder in your Data Files, and then save the document as Researching Media Companies in the same folder.

2. Open your Web browser, and then search for companies in your home town that would be interested in receiving press releases. You can look for local newspapers, radio stations, and television stations.

3. Find contact information for five companies and enter the information in the space provided in the Researching Media Companies document. In the Description area, summarize how to submit a press release to this company. You should be able to find this information somewhere on the company’s Web site, often from a Contact Us link.

4. Type your name in the footer where indicated, save the document, print a copy, and then close the document.
