In my opinion religion does hamper urban immigrants to completely emerge into a larger all-inclusive society to some extent. I say this because it depends on the regions from which they came from and their beliefs. Although, most immigrants move to areas where the population of immigrants from their specific country migrated to where they find comfort, maintain their identity and strength being amongst individuals who share the same beliefs fully emerging into a larger inclusive society could be quite difficult if they aren’t willing to conform to a larger all-inclusive society. For example, immigrants who are fully devoted to their religion might find it difficult to find places close in proximity that provide the same devotion of religious customs that they are accustomed to.
