A manufacturing company produces product A that is made up of a number of components as follows. Each unit of product A requires two units of component B, three units of component C, and two units of component D. Each unit of component B requires one unit of component D and two units of component F. Each unit of component C requires two units of component D and two units of component E. Each unit of component D requires one unit of component E and two units of component G. Finally, each unit of component E requires two units of component F. The lead time for product A and component D is one week, for components B,E, and F it is two weeks, for component C it is three weeks and for component G it is four weeks. Lot-for-lot (L4L) production quantity is applied for product A, while the lot sizes for producing components B, C, D, E, F, and G are in multiples of 50, 100, 50, 60, 50 and 75 units, respectively. The amount of beginning inventory on hand for components B, C, D, E, F, and G are 10, 30, 60,40,50 and 70 units, respectively. There is no beginning inventory on hand for product A. There are only two scheduled receipts from the company's suppliers on Week 3: 100 units for component F and 120 units for component G. The customer places an order of 60 units of product A to be delivered in Week 10.
