Jerry is the owner of a local market. He sells a variety of food items, hardware, and liquor. He has four full time employees. Jerry is a very friendly guy. He is always joking with his employees, bringing in donuts, and occasionally he will take one or two to lunch. Julie is a new employee. She has only been working for Jerry for six months. Jerry likes her because she is a hard worker. she is very diligent, and she always arrives 15 minutes early for work. Jerry saw how hard she was working on Monday so be took her to lunch to tell her what a great job she was doing. They talked about the market, how to buy produce, etc., just small talk. They had a nice time. A couple of weeks later Jerry took her to lunch again. He told her she was doing a great job and that she would get a raise after a year if she continued to make him happy. "Happy?" she said. "Oh I can do that," she said with a wink. The very next day Julie was 10 minutes late for work. She didn't say anything about it. She just smiled when she saw Jerry. Jerry noticed but didn't say anything. She was late again several times over the next couple of weeks. Jeny noticed other things to: She was on her cell phone more often, she was on the internet during work time, she spent most of the day talking to customers, and the shirts she was wearing had much lower neeklines. She was not getting her work done and it had to stop. Jerry calls Julie into his office to talk about her work ethic falling off. He told her that what she was doing was unacceptable behavior. Julie looked at him in disbelief. She fastened the top two buttons of her shirt and walked out. The next day she filed a lawsuit against Jerry for sexual harassment. Will Julie win? Why or Why not?
