Childcare Learning Story (age group 12 months)
Part 1
a. Introduction to OBSERVATION:
Introduce the background to the story, explain WHY this experience has come about. You could do this by:
Making links to the weekly program, to the goal/s for the child, or the projects taking place within the room. Making a connection to the way you have set up the environment or provocation. Explaining what you know about the child; their knowledge, strengths, interests or culture. Describing a spontaneous moment you observed that you feel links to the child's goal/s.
As part of our curriculum, the educator tape paper and put paint on the floor and invited all the other children to join to explore colour. Bod was particularly excited and rushed to come and starting walking, which led to this experience... help
b. Body: What did you observe?
Include: the child's actions, gestures/facial expressions, the child's voice, questions you asked or prompts you gave, the child's disposition, interactions with other children/educators.
-When the educator placed the tape paper on the floor with paint, Bod became extraordinarily excited and quickly play with the paint start mixing color. He explored the floor with his hands and feet, and his beaming smile indicated his happiness. Bod was particularly drawn to the paintbrushes. He would share these paint burshes with one of his peers, displaying a big smile and engaging positively with them. Regrettably, the educator couldn't capture this heartwarming moment as evidence. Bodi clutched the paint brushes with a big smile, very excited and gave them to the educators, demonstrating high engagement and positive relationships... help
c. ANALYSIS of Learning:
What has this experience told me about what, and how, the child is learning?
Record what you recognise about the child's learning and development in relation to their goals. The EYLF is very helpful for this as the learning outcomes give you the words to use to make the learning visible for families. They are designed to be holistic so there will often be links to several learning outcomes, however you only need to make a link to ONE learning outcome.
- This experience showed that Bod is an active participant and enjoys social interaction with both peers and educators. He explored the colour activity by using paint brushes to paint, also use his feet and hand to paint, such his fine-motor skills..... pls help
d. PLAN - Where to next?
What are your intentions for further learning? What strategies and experiences will you provide? When will this occur?
This section is where you plan for future learning in response to what you have noticed and the learning which is currently happening for this child. Think of ways to extend the experience to build on the child's interests or skills and extend their learning towards achieving their goals.
- To continue nurturing Bod interests and skills, we planed a activity "Colour dot" activitiy using dot marker. This activity will stimulate his learning and thinking skills by holding the marker and make dots on the paper . We intend to conduct this activity with Bod on 13/8/2023. Positive reinforcement and encouragement will be provided throughout the activity.... please help
