The operation of the microwave is: Once the user presses the start button provided the door is closed, the microwave start cooking the food by switching on the magnetron and initiating the countdown of the timer. Once the timer reaches zero, the microwave switches off the magnetron. If any stage of the cooking processes the door is opened, the microwave switches off the magnetron. The cooking process can be resumed by pressing the start button or new time can be provided. The closing the door after it has opened does not resume the cooking process.
