Q1 (50/100) A company is working on a new project. The fixed capital investment of the process is estimated as $5106(2020). Process stream information and cash flows after start up are given below. After start up the life of the process is 10 years. There is no waste treatment cost. During the development of the project, it was evaluated that the reactor feed stream can be heated with distillation column bottom product as utility stream. The bottom product stream is sent to the E-101 heat exchanger with the aid of a stainless steel positive displacement electric driven pump ( P101,15 barg, 15 kW shaft power). By this way, it was estimated that the use of utility stream for E101 will not be required and the bottom stream inlet temperature will decrease to 200C. Oil (Chu=2.25$/GJ) is used as hot utility and cooling water (CCu=0.25$/GJ) is used as cold utility in the process. It was assumed that there is no change on operating labor cost. Calculate the cost of manufacturing without depreciation (COMC) for 2020 for both cases (CEPCl2020=591.1;CEPCl2001=397.0; stream factor =0.95). Q1 (50/100) A company is working on a new project.
