Tyler Govender (Pty) Ltd a company based in Durban (a registered VAT vendor) is a manufacturer of various assortment of luxury perfumes. Its year of assessment ends on 28 February 2023 and the company is not a small business corporation as defined in the Income Tax Act. The following manufacturing equipment was acquired:
Machine Z (new) at a total cost of R1280000(excluding VAT) on1 August 2022 and brought into use on 1 September 2022. A foundation costing R100000(excluding VAT) had to be built to mount Machine Z Machine P (used) at a total cost of R900000 on 1 July 2021 and brought into use on 1 October 2021.

Binding General Ruling no.7 allows for a four year write off for delivery vehicles. VAT rate applicable is 15%.

The machine was sold on 1 February 2018 for R168000(excluding VAT).
