This role-play sets the stage for your group to develop a recommendation for a new organization plan for the sales force at Your Chosen company. You need to revise its organization because its sales force is about to begin selling its newly acquired Hello product line which previously has only been sold by manufacturer's agents. Adding to the complication, the two product lines have some overlap in terms of outlets (retailers), but the Hello line is also sold in some very different outlets. Your group will need to dive into the organizational options discussed in the PPT for chapter 4 and come up with one that best fits this new development at Your choice of company. The decision discussion takes place in the form of a meeting between four top sales managers, first name, second name, third name, and fourth name (if there are three people in your group, then stop at three names).
Remember companies should structure its sales force based on the customers it serves and the products offered.
The goal in designing a sales organization is to divide and coordinate activities so the group can accomplish its common objectives better by acting as a group rather than by acting as individuals.
