Subject: It's Not My Fault
I would like to bring to your attention a costly decision that affected our budget and our performance. It seems in trying to fulfill a rush order from a regular customer, we failed to look ahead at the consequences and negative impact on the business. Due to going ahead with such an unreasonable request, the business lost money by overworking and overpaying its employees, which resulted in poor performance and increased errors.
As a rule of thumb, I recommend we put a clause in our client contracts that stipulate we not honor any order requests received at the "last hour" in order to assure accurate job fulfillment and increased sales.
Please advise when you would like to discuss drafting a new policy.
